(Doctor, for the past few months I have been noticing (Literally, "since it makes a few months, I am noticing") areas of the boy's skin that look without color. They begin very small, but later they become bigger.) Note: The reflexive form of the verb "hacer" ("hacerse") can mean "become," or literally, "...make themselves bigger."
Doctor: ¿Y él es el único con estas manchas? ¿o hay alguien más con lo mismo en la casa?
(And is he the only one with these spots, or is there anyone else in the house with the same thing?)
Mamá: Bueno, mi esposo tiene esas manchas, pero él dice que las ha tenido desde niño. Mi hijo nació normal, y ahora las está teniendo también.
(Well, my husband has those spots, but he says that he has had them from childhood. My son was born normal, and now he is having them also.) Note: Observe that "desde nino" is idiomatically translated as "from childhood."
Doctor: Esto luce como una micosis cutánea. Es debido a que la piel se mantiene húmeda, lo que favorece el crecimiento del hongo en la piel.
(This looks like a cutaneous mycosis. It happens when moist skin favors the growth of fungus. Literally, "It is due to that the skin is maintained moist, which favors the growth of fungus on the skin.")
