1. Hola, soy la Doctora Pérez, mucho gusto.
(Hello, I am Doctor Pérez, nice to meet you.)
2-n. ¿Qué le trae por aquí?
(What brings you/him here? (ie: to the office))
2a-n. ¿Cuál es el problema?
(What is the problem?)
2b-n. ¿Qué le pasa?
(What is going on with you/him/her?) Note: The verb "pasar," or "to happen," takes the place of the English idiomatic phrase, "going on."
2c-n. ¿Qué es lo que tiene?
(What is it that you/he/she has?) Note: In Spanish, asking a patient what he or she "has" is asking about symptoms/problems/illness, etc.
2aa. ¿Tiene algún dolor?
(Do you / does he/she have any pain?)
2ab. ¿Désde cuándo tiene dolor? ¿Es agudo o crónico?
(For how long have you had pain? Is it acute or chronic?) Note: Literally, it says, "Since when do you have pain?"
2. ¿Dónde le duele? ¿Dónde te duele?
(Where does it hurt you/him/her? Where does it hurt you (child)?)
2ac. ¿Cómo es el dolor: pulsátil, continuo, lacerante, cólico, opresivo, intermitente...?
(How is the pain: pulsatile, continuous, sharp, colicky, with pressure, intermittent...?)
2ad. ¿Hay alguna posición que le aumente el dolor o lo disminuya?
(Is there any position that increases the pain or diminishes it?)
2a. ¿Has tomado o hecho algo para solucionar este problema?
(Have you taken or done anything to solve this problem?)
2b. ¿Hace cuánto tiene fiebre?
(How long have you/he/she had fever?)
3. ¿Cuántas veces ha vomitado?
(How many times have you/he/she vomited?)
4. ¿Cuándo empezó la diarrea?
(When did the diarrhea begin?)
5. La herida la recibió con un objeto: ¿cortante, punzante, o romo?
(Was the wound caused by an object: cutting, stabbing (as a puncture), or blunt (dull)? Literally: The wound, you received it with an object...")
6. ¿Cuánto tiempo ha estado abierta la herida?
(How much time has the wound been open?)
7. ¿Tuvo sangre roja brillante en la diarrea, o vómito?
(Did you have bright red blood in the diarrhea or vomit?)
8-n. ¿Tiene alguna alergia?
(Do you/he/she have any allergy?)
9-n. ¿Toma alguna medicina?
(Do you/he/she take any medicine?)
10. ¿Tiene algún hábito como: fumar, beber alcohol, o usar drogas psicotrópicas?
(Do you have any habit such as: smoking, drinking alcohol, or using psychotropic drugs?)
